Modern Bed & Nightstands

This custom-made bed & nightstands were created exclusively for an Asheville couple to fit into their new home. The fluidity of design is meant to emphasize the beauty of the natural patterns in the spalted ambrosia maple. If you look closely, you can see the quilting in the wood as well.

Initial Design


We found this gorgeous spalted maple at Bee Tree Hardwoods in Swananoa, NC. After several passes through the planer, the wood began to show its true colors. Just imagine how beautiful it will look with a mocha stain to bring out the spalting...

Test Cut
	We test-cut each piece with plywood before cutting into the final piece of precious maple. Each piece of the bed is custom fit to the maple to emphasize the best patterns in the wood.
Milling
We utilize our CNC ShopBot Mill to ensure that the graphic pattern in the headboard is perfect...
	...but make no mistake, this bed is made by hand.
